Harmony High School welcomes Mrs. Patton!

At Harmony High School we are very excited to introduce our new English I teacher, Mrs. Rebecca Patton.

Born into a family employed by the oil and gas industry, Rebecca attended nine different schools between 4 states before graduating Cy-Fair High School in Houston. After marriage in 1998, Rebecca and her husband found a permanent home in Gilmer. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Tyler, but after becoming a parent to Matthew (Harmony c/o 2019), Sam (c/o 2021), and Brody (c/o 2025), she felt drawn to education and decided to pursue teaching. Upon certification through Texas A&M-Commerce, Rebecca became employed with Ore City ISD as an 8th Grade English teacher. During this time, she also sponsored National Junior Honor Society, taught Art, coached UIL speaking events, and served on a variety of committees.

With a history of serving as PTO President and volunteer at James Poole Elementary, completing student teaching at Irons-Smith Intermediate, and substituting at Harmony Junior High School, Rebecca is excited to be returning to the district that is home to her family.

Welcome to Harmony!
