Mrs. Bearden

Harmony High School will have a few new faces and changes when students return to school in the fall.  Among those changes, will be seeing Mrs. Bearden in her new role as our High School Counselor.

Mrs. Bearden is a 1989 graduate of Harmony High School.  She graduated from Jacksonville College in 1991 with an Associates of Arts and East Texas Baptist University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Major in English and Minor in Communication Arts.

In August of 1994, She began her career teaching at New Diana Middle School.  My first teaching assignment was 6-8 Spanish, 8th grade Honors Spanish, Journalism I-IV, and Yearbook I-IV.  She taught Spanish two years then moved to 7th and 8th grade English.  After teaching seven years at New Diana Middle School, She came home to Harmony to teach.  She taught 8th grade English at Harmony Junior High for three years before moving to 9th grade English.  During my years in high school, she has taught 9th, 11th, and 12th grade English, Pre-AP, AP, Business English, Debate, Theatre, Yearbook, directed the One-Act Play, and served as UIL Coordinator.  In total, she has taught twenty-five years in education.   She has a Master of Education in Educational Administration and Master of Education in Teacher Leadership from Lamar University as well as a Master of Education in School Counseling with a LPC Endorsement Certification also from Lamar University.

We are very excited that she has made the move to be our high school counselor.

From Mrs. Bearden: "Harmony is a great place to be and call home; the school and community here is one of the best in Texas.  I truly enjoy coming to work everyday.  It is home to me and a place where we are all a family.  Please don't hesitate to ask for help if you need me for anything."
