PROFESSIONAL POSITIONS

High School Agricultural Teacher / FFA Advisor

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the agricultural science academic subject area. Motivate and instruct students for success on industry based certification tests depending on the assigned teaching area. Teaching area will be based on departmental teacher strengths.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Agricultural Science Subject Area Preferred)

  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (Agricultural Science Preferred)

Classroom Responsibilities:

1)Prioritize classroom learning and preparing students for post secondary education or the industry they choose.

2) Develop engaging lessons and activities that support mastery of the subject area TEKS.

3) Follow procedures for purchasing and budget accounts to order supplies and materials.

4) Organize and plan appropriately to teach all required material for the school year.

FFA Advisor Responsibilities:

1) Be a team player with solid communication skills to work with students, teachers, and administrators on multiple campuses and in multiple activities. 

2)Train Leadership Development, Career Development, and Speaking Development Events

3) Supervises SAE’s throughout the school year. SAE projects will be divided based on strengths of individual teachers in the department.

4) Work closely with the FFA officer team to develop a community based program of activities. 

5)Actively participate on the county livestock show committee.

Junior High School Counselor

Work with school faculty and staff, students, parents and community to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program.  Counsel student to fully develop each student’s academic, career, personal, and social abilities and address the needs of special populations students.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Certification

  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university

  • Valid Texas School Counselor Certification

  • *Other counseling certifications may be considered

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career development

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

PARAPROFESSIONAL

Elementary Special Education

Support the district’s 6-8 Instructional programs to ensure academic improvement and student success. The focus of the position is on Instructional interventions for struggling students and teacher support.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate

• Have met formal academic assessment, associate’s degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning*

• Valid Texas educational aide certificate
