On August 4th, 2023 at the Gilmer Civic Center, Harmony Independent School District had the great opportunity to have Gerry Brooks present to them.
Gerry Brooks is a principal at an elementary school in Lexington, Kentucky. His education experience includes six years in the classroom, two years as an intervention specialist, and 12 years as an administrator. He has amassed a social media following of over 3.1 million people, focusing on the humor of real-world educational experiences.
His encouraging words are spoken to educational groups all over the world. While visiting Harmony, he focused on encouraging teachers to improve instruction through a variety of personal climate and cultural strategies.
Staff regarded the presentation as "Awesome" and "the best ever". "It was a great morning being inspired by another educator. We are going to have an amazing year at Harmony ISD", said Superintendent Mr. Michael Alphin.
