Harmony Independent School District announces that a bond election has been called for May 4, 2024. The bond election, totaling $25 million, will address safety and security upgrades, renovations and additions, and upgrades to facilities that have
outlived their useful life. The focus of the bond is centered around classroom additions to provide instructional space for students and to accommodate enrollment growth in the district.
This bond proposal was developed by a committee of teachers and citizens from across the school district. After months of review, discussions, and consideration, the committee determined the most cost-effective way to improve current facilities, provide solutions, and lay the groundwork for future projects. Superintendent Michael J. Alphin's statement regarding the proposed improvements, "This bond election will allow us to make critical upgrades to our facilities that will increase safety and instructional opportunities for students."
The funds from the bond election will be allocated towards classroom renovations, new construction of classrooms, newly constructed hallways, and expanded instructional opportunities.
A community meeting will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 6:00pm to learn more about the proposals for the bond.
Thank you! Yesterday Harmony ISD had an unforseen interruption to the school day when we lost power. Thank you to the parents, community, administration, staff, and students for working together to adjust to the changing day yesterday. THANK YOU! GO EAGLES!!
(10:35am) HISD is still without power. Our school busses are loaded at this time and taking students home. Car riders can still be picked up at this time.
(10:00 am) due to the extended power outage. Harmony ISD will have to dismiss school at this time. Busses at Harmony ISD will run at 10:30. Car pick up lines will run as normal for afternoon pickups.
(9:00am) Harmony ISD has lost power again. We will update as we know more information.
(8:01am). Power has been restored at HISD. We are resuming our regular schedule.
(7:25 am). Harmony ISD has lost power. We are in communication with our electric provider and will continue to monitor at this time. Harmony ISD will also provide updates as soon as possible.
CONGRATULATIONS! Coach Brian Mauk was offically approved this evening and will be the Athletic Director / Head Football coach for Harmony ISD. We are very proud and excited to see him lead our program. GO EAGLES!!
