Currently the Northern portion of the has several slippery areas that our busses will have to navigate. As currently forecasted, conditions are to continue throughout the eventing and worsen. Due to continued deteriorating road conditions and the prediction of overnight snow and ice accumulation with freezing temperatures, HISD will be closed Friday, January 10. Be safe and stay warm!!

WINTER WEATHER UPDATE, JANUARY 8:
All Harmony ISD campuses and offices will be closed Thursday, January 9 due to the expected winter weather and forecasted hazardous driving conditions.
Again, there will be no classes on Thursday, January 9 and all after-school activities, athletic games, and practices are canceled unless otherwise communicated by our athletic and fine arts departments.
Changes to Friday's school day will be announced at a later time. Please continue to follow our website and our social media pages to be updated as information about possible closures, delays and rescheduled events becomes available.
As we all know, weather forecasts can change quickly. However, with winter weather in the forecast later this week, Harmony ISD administrators are already taking every precaution to prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and families. We closely monitor forecasts, communicate with neighboring school districts, and evaluate road conditions to make the best decision possible regarding school schedules.
Here’s what we consider when making weather-related decisions:
• Road conditions and whether buses and cars can travel safely
• Current snow or ice accumulation
• The rate and expected duration of precipitation
• Parking lot and sidewalk conditions
• Weather predictions
When will you know?
We understand the importance of advance notice for families to make arrangements. When changes to the school schedule are necessary, we strive to notify families and staff as quickly as possible and by 6:15 a.m. if a decision is made the morning of a school day.

As flu season is upon us, let’s work together to keep our community healthy! Here are some important tips to help stop the spread of the flu:
Wash Your Hands: Regular handwashing with soap and water can reduce the spread of germs. If soap isn’t available, use hand sanitizer.
Cover Your Coughs and Sneezes: Use a tissue or your elbow to prevent germs from spreading.
Avoid Close Contact: Keep your distance from others if you're feeling unwell, and let’s protect those who are vulnerable.
Stay Home If You're Sick: It’s best to rest and recover at home to avoid spreading the flu to others.

Harmony ISD Child Nutrition is excited to utilize the Texas School grant program provided by TDA to support Texas growers and to incorporate Texas-produced food into our menus. Harmony ISD has purcased beef and pork from Steel Mill Farms in Gilmer, TX. Go Eagles!!
